Now that you're branching out into the travel/tours side of things, I truly hope that your UA-cam channel doesn't fade away into a distant memory like Juba's Travels. Much like you and your channel, Juba was a great inspiration and a big reason for our little family to get out more, camp more and explore more. Hopefully we'll still see you and Get Out Go on UA-cam in the years to come.

Last time we could take a break & travel, was in 2001. We simply HAVE to work seven days per week. So many folks travel, complain about trivial things along the way, without knowing how others live. My own last braai was on December 24, 2015. Live life while you can; so glad we lived outside our home when we were young. We showed Cape Town to born Capetonians just like we showed Pretoria to Pretorians. So many places never been, so many never seen. One life is too short. Disability and "democracy" ruined our lives, for now. 2001, you read it right.

I have been uncomfortably close to an elephant in Dinokeng, so I know they are there Christoff. But I did understand from one of the owners that they know where the people are and are clever about arranging their day to avoid them. 🤭

Great video. Agree the game drive price is a bit steep in Dinokeng, takes away the advantage that it is nearby.

I’m booked in for a month next year in SA to stay in places like this. It’s a bit of a homecoming of course, and a chance to reunite with old friends. Sadly my wife passed away a few months ago, so this next trip will be a challenge without her at my side. But I’ll leave some of her ashes behind so that her “Africa feet” stay rooted in a place she loved deeply.

Brilliant. I love your channel up here at the equator. I have so many questions. Could you explain your reasoning for picking this vehicle? What does it bring over what you had before? What other options you considered? I have so many questions? I think you could have exploded each chapter (even perhaps into an episode). For instance the suspension choice you made, you mention load considerations, what are they? What is the target load you are working towards that then informs suspension choices? Are you going to upgrade your brakes? Well done and congratulations on this new chapter in your overlanding experiences. Thankyou for sharing with us.

I took delivery of the Maxi last year in September. I kitted it out with the iKamper and 270 awning. Perfect for towing. Lots of storage for me, wife and two kids. Great buy from Jason and the Team at iKamper Pietermaritzburg.

There is a misconception that reducing tyre pressure for off-road driving is to flatten the sidewall for a bigger footprint, this is incorrect, reducing tyre pressure elongates the tyre and increasing the footprint. Some tyres, especially three ply sidewall tyres don’t sag as much when pressures are reduced so people assume they aren’t increasing the footprint, but they are as the foot print in now longer, not wider.

Had Coopers for the aggressive stuff and managed to get 100k out of them...but missed the small print about balancing and alignment every 5k...it got quite rough towards the end. Have since replaced with general grabber which is cool for daily stuff

Fantastic vehicle, and awesome description Chris, thank you. I just have one worry, and I’m hoping you can clarify for me. The extendable bed seems to be quite low relative to others on the rooftop of a vehicle. Would that be dangerous with wild animals? Or not?

What size is stock and size did you fit?

This was a good video but I think the last bit of information was incorrect. When choosing tires for overlanding you need to heed the boy scout motto, "be prepared". When buying tires for an overland vehicle you should purchase based on the worst terrain you are expecting to see. Even if it's only 0.2% of your travel, expect the unexpected.

Maxxis customer service sucks - I wanted to get some, but I suppose because I’m not a UA-camr, they couldn’t even bother to give me a quote- happy with the General Grabber’s I got instead
